On my Yucatan itinerary I saved some days for visiting Valladolid, Mexico and NOT for its nearby world wonder Chichen Itza. It are actually the cenotes around Valladolid that make this city one of the best places to visit in Yucatan Peninsula. After you read this travel blog about the Valladolid cenotes I am sure you get itchy feet visiting this city in the center of the Yucatan Peninsula.

On my Yucatan Peninsula road trip I decided to visit all the cenotes near Valladolid and found some hidden gems you won’t often see in other Valladolid travel guides. With Cenote Suytun and Ik Kil being so immense popular people are forgetting about those cenotes a little off the beaten track, but these ones are just as gorgeous.

While most people flock to cenote Suytun, cenote Ik Kil or cenote Xcanche when they travel to Valladolid there are a couple less popular cenotes that are equally stunning. Off the beaten path in Yucatan, not touristy yet very unique is Sac Aua. One of the 12 cenotes around Valladolid worth visiting.

During my 2 months backpacking in Yucatan I visited Valladolid Mexico 3 times. The laid back vibe of this sleepy town is contagious and on top of that it has some of the most beautiful Yucatan cenotes around. Cenote Suytun is one of them and in this blog I will tell you all about it. I visited cenote Suytun two times and these are all my tips. In this blog you will also find a Suytun vlog.

While traveling in Yucatan Peninsula for almost two months in the beginning of 2019 I stranded in Valladolid twice. On my first trip to this city I fell in love with the laid-back vibe and it made me come back a couple weeks later. This city is not only about the Valladolid cenotes! Also the many new coffee places, boutique shops, the slow paced life, the friendly people and the beautiful haciendas are reasons to travel to Valladolid.

One of the most laid-back cities in the Yucatan Peninsula is Valladolid. A small and charming city right in the heart of the peninsula. A landlocked quiet and hot town, that stole my heart. For many reasons I visited Valladolid 3 times on my 9 weeks trip to Yucatan. In total I spent 2 weeks here and these are all my Valladolid Mexico travel tips.

After I visited all the cenotes around Valladolid in Yucatan Peninsula there was only one beautiful cenote left on my bucketlist. In April 2019 I finally got time to visit cenote Ik Kil and wrote down all my tips for you. In this travel blog you will find everything you need to know when you visit Ik Kil.

In March 2019 I visited Yucatan for more than 2 months and saw all the Yucatan Peninsula highlights. But don’t worry this Yucatan itinerary is not gonna last 2 months! To tick off the best things to do you in Yucatan Peninsula will need at least two weeks, but even if you have less time making a road trip is a great idea. You will just have to pick your favorite tourist destinations. With all the tips and links to more Yucatan travel blogs Im sure I can help you.
