I always tell people that India is the best country for food and my stay at the ITC Maratha Mumbai was another confirmation of this. The ITC Maratha Restaurants are rated among the best restaurants in Mumbai and staying here during the Indian Monsoon Season was a great pleasure. On the bright side of the grey and rainy days I had the chance to try out the a lot of food and create my own food tour all on the ground floor of the hotel.
Responsible Luxury ITC Hotels
Last August I was invited to check out the hotel’s services and to learn about their Responsible Luxury program in their effort to provide the highest level of luxury with a gentle touch of nature. Embracing the value of ‘Responisble Luxury’, 80% of the hotel’s energy comes from renewable sources. ITC Hotels is the world’s greenest hotel chain! They harvest more drinking water than they use and they recycle more waste than they produce. Who would have thought that award would be given to an Indian Hotel chain, right? Respect and congratulations!
Location
Not only does the hotel house some of best restaurants in Mumbai it has also a prime location right next to the International Airport and only 10 minutes away from the Domestic Airport. Rooms ITC Maratha Hotel
My room was located on the 15th floor overlooking the huge swimming pool. I was given a warm welcome with some tasty local sweets and a bunch of chocolate surprises, which were a delicious treat after my long journey to Mumbai.
The warm purple colours of the ITC Hotels brand came back in the furniture boosting a very domestic atmosphere. I had a separate seating area with the newspaper of that day lined up for me. I was happy with the super fast and reliable WiFi, perfect to catch up with work.
Luxury hotels in India? I stayed in some of the countries most iconic properties: Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur & Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur.
Facilities ITC Maratha
The hotel is not only well known for housing one of the most famous restaurants, but also for its excellent service. Every day I enjoyed complimentary drinks and delicious snacks at the lounge on the top floor. There is a spa and a fitness centre including a personal trainer and a big outdoor pool.
ITC Maratha Restaurants
The main attraction of the hotel is of course its 5 incredible restaurants all located on the ground floor of the hotel. Being rated as one of the best restaurants in Mumbai Peshawri is stealing the show when it comes to food. Eating here was more than simply enjoying the outstanding Indian cuisine. As soon as I entered I was handed an adult size bib. Eating in Peshawri means eating the traditional Indian way: with your hands. The size of the served naan bread was incredible.
There are many good restaurants in Mumbai but with 5 award-winning places within 1 minute walk there was no need to leave the hotel and the other day I ended up in Pan Asia, also among the top 10 restaurants in Mumbai.
The ITC Maratha restaurants are a key factor in its reputation being one of the leading 5 star hotels in Mumbai.
The majestic courtyard centrally located in the hotel cannot be missed. It is were breakfast is served and is open 24 hours. In this impressive white courtyard many faces of Mumbai and India can be found in its architecture, like the Gateway of India and the clock tower.
Review ITC Maratha Mumbai
My stay at this luxury hotel was lovely. The food journey was a great experience and for foodies this hotel is heaven. You might end up being locked up inside, though in this situation that is not bad at all. Their responsible luxury program is another thing that really makes a difference. It’s a perfect stop for both; business and leisure! Agoda is the most popular hotel booking website in Asia with the most competitive prices, the ITC Maratha Mumbai can already been found for less than $120 per night.
