By the time I got back to Bangkok last month I was in serious need of relaxation, and I was happy to be invited at one of the coolest boutique hotels in Bangkok: the Siam at Siam Design Hotel. It is one of Bangkok’s oldest family-owned hotels and lately completely refurbished. Siam at Siam Design Hotel is a boutique hotel with a contemporary, luxurious, and unique style right in the heart of Bangkok.
The location
That is right the location of the Siam Design Hotel is unbeatable as it is as central as you can get it in Bangkok. There are not that many hotels near Siam Square, the commercial center where all the big shopping malls like Siam Paragon and MBK are located. The hotel lies only a 3 minute walk from BTS National Stadium which connects you to the rest of Bangkok. Very central and yet still a quiet place as the hotel is the last of the high-rise buildings separating the old city from the new city. This unique locations makes it that rooms and the rooftop restaurants have unobstructed views over this crazy city.

The rooms
The Siam at Siam Design hotel has more than 200 rooms that come in 5 different types, ranging from Leisure Class to Grand Biz Suites. These exceptionally spacious suites are catered for the business traveller but also a hip group of friends is welcome as the Youth category rooms sleep up to 3 people, ideal for friends or family who come to enjoy Bangkok together. Rooms facing the old Bangkok have great sunset views, rooms that are facing South look right into the massive National Stadium complex where major sports events are held. Both views are great! The rooms in this boutique hotel in Bangkok are huge and all feature signature high ceilings, a separate seating area, big wardrobe and a super comfy bed. My en-suite bathroom was modern and had a floor-to-ceiling window separating the bedroom. The individual designed rooms in bold reds, oranges, and gold colour scheme are designed to stimulate the senses and release creativity and it worked really well. I totally enjoyed the room and somehow the vibe inspired me to do tons of work.

Facilities Siam Siam Bangkok
Inifity pool
In line with the hotels design it offers a unique pool sensation complete with views of the old city and the National Stadium. There is a relaxing vibe in a lush tropical environment to hang out and soak up some sun after a day sightseeing in Bangkok. They really did their best to make this area look green and refreshing which makes it a little oasis in this bustling city.
Gym
The hotels gym is completely new and very impressive. The large wall paintings are inspirational and the wide range of equipment choice won’t disappoint you.
Restaurants at Siam design hotel
The hotel has 3 different restaurants offering international cuisine with artistic flair. One restaurant is on the ground floor offering all-day dining. PH1 is a trendy design restaurant with a hip atmosphere and a full bar with a different style live-music every night.
La Vue
Food lovers need to head to the rooftop where they can enjoy delicious French cuisine at La Vue. This indoor rooftop restaurant is a fine dining spot with amazing views. Try to reserve a table on the window and you will be blown away by the amazing view of Bangkok‘s skyline. The beef tenderloin in red wine sauce was my favourite by far, though the seafood was super tasty as well. The imported French wine selection is impressive and service up here is impeccable, the staff was super friendly and skilled.
The Roof Gastro
Situated at couple stairs higher than La Vue, the Roof Gastro is an outdoor restaurant that dazzles guests with breathtaking panoramic views of Bangkok. Set across multiple levels there are unlimited spots that have unobstructed views over the Bangkok Skyline. This restaurant is a fantastic feature of the Siam at Siam Design Hotel. It is Thailand’s first stone grill restaurant, where food comes on a volcanic stone, a unique dining experience under the stars. There is also a bar if you just want to head up here for drinks or enjoy the sunset in a lounge chair. Sushi platters up here are equally yummy.
