My annual returning ski trip to Salzburgerland with Alpin rental was this year scheduled for mid January 2020 and I was one of the first ones to check out and review Elements Resort Zell am See. This brand new resort by Alpin Rentals just opened its doors in December 2019. In this blog you can read all about my experiences.
Where is Zell am See
This picturesque town is located on the shores of Lake Zell and a famous tourist destination in summer and winter. Just a little over 1 hour drive South of Salzburg. The Salzburg Airport is 75 kilometers away and Munich Airport is a little over 200 kilometers away. There are shuttle services available by Alpin Rentals.
Location Elements Resort Zell am See
The Elements Resort is located only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Areitbahn gondola where you can also find and apres ski bar. Supermarkets are just around the corner. The Elements Resort is not located in the city center of Zell am See, which is about 20 minutes walk, but better to go up the Areitbahn and ski right into Zell am See.
Check in Elements Resort Zell am See
The Elements Resort has a huge underground car park were we could park both cars. Through the hallway and the lift we transported all our stuff on a baggage trolley. Check in was smooth and the friendly staff explained us all the details about the resort. Most of the rooms and apartments come with half-board.
You can buy your lift tickets for the ski resort at the Elements Resort reception.
Rooms Elements Resort by Alpin Rentals
I brought 3 friends on this ski trip to Zell am See and we stayed in room 123. It is a huge apartment with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and a big dining table and living area. An eye-catching feature of this room is the biggest balcony of the Elements Resort in Zell am See with views of the Kitzsteinhorn and of course the amazing outdoor pool.
Wellness Elements Resort
Of all my stays in the Alpin Rental resorts the Element Resort has the best wellness area. There are 2 different saunas, infra red chairs, several relaxing rooms, a gym and an outdoor pool. The pool can be accessed from the wellness area indoor and is heated to swim in winter as well. Some guests used it every morning, I mostly took a dip after a couple beers in the apres ski bar and right before dinner.
Restaurant Elements Resort
Like all my other stays at Alpin Rental hotels and resorts the restaurant is a real treat every night. Delicious steaks, king prawns, salads, sweet potato fries, grilled vegetables, fresh fish as well as pizzas. Most bookings come with half-board, so eat your heart out in this a la carte restaurant.
Breakfast is also included and is served from 07.00 till 10.30. There is a wide choice of bread, spreads, cheese and cold cuts, but I missed some fresh fruits.
Ski resort Zell am See Kaprun
Together with Kaprun and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier Zell am See Kaprun is a popular and well known ski resort in the region. The Zell am See ski resort itself has 77 kilometers pistes all connected by modern chairlifts or gondolas. What I love about the Zell am See ski resort is that there are several challenging runs back to the base. Perfect for experienced skiers or snowboarders. There are of course also easy routes back into Zell am See.
Winter season 2019/2020 the Zell Am See Kaprun ski resort proudly announced two new lifts openings: K-onnection and the Zell am See Xpress.
Zell am See Xpress
This brand new gondola is the long wanted gateway from the Zell am See ski resort towards the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm. This gondola is the new lift connection that lets you ski more than 400 kilometers of pistes with the Ski Alpin Card. So from Zell am See you can ski all the way to Fieberbrunn through Saalbach and Hinterglemm or touch base in the Leogang resort all with one lift tickets.
The Zell am See Xpress has several Jukebox-gondolas. In those specific gondolas you can log in to the music system and play your favorite songs.
The red run 21 underneath the Zell am See Express is one of my favorite pistes in Zell am See.
This hyper modern gondola connects the Kaprun ski resort directly with the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. These two ski resorts are not directly connected to the Zell am See ski resorts and you will need to take a ski bus to get there.
Review Elements Resort Zell am See
In total I stayed almost a week at the Elements Resorts by Alpin Rentals. Of course was the heated outdoor pool a real treat and the eye catcher of the Elements Resort in Zell am See, but knowing that you will be served delicious meals every evening in the restaurant makes it worthwhile going ‘home’ after a day of skiing on the slopes of the Zell am See ski resort.
I hope the above review of the Elements Resort by Alpin Rentals was helpful for your upcoming winter holiday.
