Sometimes dreams come true, and the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is such a dream. The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is one of those typical bucket list accommodations that is all over social media. If you search for unique accommodations in Lapland, this is often the first in the search results.
As avid Lapland and Finland travelers and enthusiasts, we have already experienced many beautiful accommodations. Yet the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel was secretly high on our list of things we wanted to discover. Last autumn the time had finally come.

Location
The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is located on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi. The hotel is located only 4 km from the airport. So after your arrival it's a short 5 minute drive to the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel.
It's located only 15 minutes from the city center of Rovaniemi and a short 5 minute drive from the famous Santa Claus Village. You can even reach Santa Claus Village by foot as it is only a 30 minute walk from the hotel.
Arctic TreeHouse Hotel
From the moment you arrive here you feel special, almost royal. We arrived by taxi and when we arrived an employee was immediately ready to get our suitcases from the taxi.
When you walk into the reception building, everything feels luxurious and chic. The personal attention they give to their guests here is really next level.
Fortunately, our room was ready immediately after check-in. You will then be taken to your accommodation by shuttle bus, what a service! Speaking of service, Arctic TreeHouse Hotel has a WhatsApp number where you as a guest can go with all your questions and requests. The guest service and shuttle service are available for you throughout your stay.
For example, if you don't feel like walking to the restaurant for breakfast, you can text the reception and the van will pick you up. That's a bit too much for us, but the fact that they go that far to make the guests feel as comfortable as possible is really admirable. We did use this when checking out though, so that we did not have to drag our suitcases around.
Make sure you walk around the park so that you see all types of accommodations. At the very top you will also find the sauna, and if you walk further you will also come across a Laavu and a viewing tower. So go on a voyage of discovery around the resort!
Accommodation types
The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel has 4 different accommodations to choose from. We had the Arctic TreeHouse Suite, I'll get to that later in more detail. But you can also choose from the Arctic GlassHouse, ArcticScene Executive Suite and the Hidden Arctic Cloud-Villas.
The Arctic GlassHouse offers two bedrooms, so perfect for families or groups of friends. The lounge looks very relaxed and has a real fireplace. Perfect for those long and cold arctic nights. The Arctic GlassHouse even has a private sauna in the bathroom. This type of accommodation also has a large outdoor terrace.
The ArcticScene Executive Suite combines two regular treehouses into a larger suite. These suites have a separate bedroom and living room. They also have their own wellness area with a scenery sauna, a bath and a separate shower.
The Hidden Arctic Cloud-Villas are actually located elsewhere, around 20 minutes drive from Rovaniemi city center. These are brand new and located in a secluded forest. Ultimate luxury, comfort and privacy is what these villas offer. These are next level because it comes with a private chef during your stay. These villas have 3 bedrooms, a living room, 3 bathrooms and a sauna. They also have an outdoor terrace with jacuzzi.
Arctic TreeHouse Suite
The Arctic TreeHouse Suite is the most common accommodation here. These suites make you feel at home from the moment you walk in. The interior is light and easy going. The large window looks out over the Finnish forests, pure tranquility!
The large panoramic window is the absolute centerpiece of these rooms. The suites have a high-quality double bed or two separate beds. They are positioned to be able to best enjoy the views while comfortably lying in bed.
The bathroom includes a wonderful rain shower and underfloor heating, how lovely! The room also has a nice sitting area with two relaxing chairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the famous treehouses.
The location in the middle of nature with only green forests as a view was really the highlight of our stay.
Wellness & Sauna
I already mentioned the sauna before. The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel has a traditional sauna which you can experience during your stay. The sauna is available year round. A sauna session is not included with your stay. Prices vary depending on the time of year, and go from €199 for a private session for 1-2 persons, to €289 EUR for a private session. The duration of these private sessions is 2 hours. You can only book this when you're a guest of the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel. Included during these sessions are a wellness drink, water and small snacks, bathrobe, towels and slippers and pick up and drop off services from your room.
Unfortunately for us the Syvä Wellness Nest was closed for the season during our stay. The SyväWellness Nest is the Arctic TreeHouse Hotels little piece of heaven. It's your place to go if you want to be truly pampered with a facial treatment or relaxing massage.
Rakas Restaurant
Believe us, do yourself a favor and book dinner at Rakas Restaurant for at least one evening. Rakas Restaurant is the award winning restaurant of the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel. It's located in the main building, basically behind the reception area.
In the mornings Rakas Restaurant is your place to be. They also work out well for breakfast! How about fresh fruit and vegetable shots, freshly made pastries and caviar! I had never had caviar before, and certainly not for breakfast, but I thought this was a nice place to try it. Caviar for breakfast, how posh! Pure luxury.
The restaurant has a unique ambiance. Rakas has a very welcoming atmosphere. It's a super cozy restaurant. Their menu and dishes are made from local ingredients. The food is of very high quality.
The pine cone lamps, fireplace and cozy atmosphere guarantee a nice and delicious night out!
Aurora Alert App
One of the main reasons for people to travel to Lapland is because they desperately want to see the Northern Lights. That was no different for us! Our first trip to the far North, of Norway, was purely to see the Northern Lights. We have now been lucky enough to see the magical Northern Lights several times.
There is of course nothing better than staying in a special TreeHouse accommodation and being able to see the Northern Lights there.
At the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel they do everything they can to make Northern Lights dreams come true. This way they have as little lighting as possible in their park, only what is necessary. You can also download the Aurora Alert app and set alerts. If the Northern Lights are seen, you will automatically receive a notification on your phone. Of course we also downloaded this app and turned on the alert.
On the second evening it was a hit! At the first alert we went outside to have a look, but not much was visible yet. A second alert came a little later. This time it was really visible.
The Northern Lights literally danced above the hotel and exploded! An evening we will not soon forget. Our advice: Install the app and turn on the notifications!
Complimentary seasonal activities
The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel invites their guests to explore and experience the Arctic nature at their own pace. To optimally facilitate this, they offer complimentary seasonal activities. In autumn and summer guests can use the fat bikes, kick bikes and Nordic walking poles free of charge. In winter guests can use the toboggans, kick sleds, snowshoes, ski shoes and fat bikes free of charge.
SantaPark
Located right next to the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is SantaPark, the home cavern of Santa Claus. SantaPark is an enchanting world where you can earn your own diploma at Elf School, cross the Arctic Circle underground, enjoy an Elf show, decorate cookies and even meet Santa Claus himself.
Unfortunately SantaPark was still closed for the season during our visit. It opens its doors again on the 1st of November.
Overall thoughts on the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel
During our stay here we were left speechless. Speechless by the personal attention you experience as a guest. But also speechless by the extraordinary luxurious services they offer you here and the delicious food.
Staying here is a guaranteed unforgettable accommodation experience!
We mentioned earlier that the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel was high on our bucket list. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Every guest who stays here is cared for and pampered as if you were a guest of honor.
You can feel and notice in everything here that this is truly a high-end accommodation. From the award-winning restaurant to the caviar for breakfast and the guest and shuttle services. The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is one of those places you simply have to visit at least once in your life.
