Even though Dusseldorf is only an hour away from where I live, I had actually never visited this city before. I only ever passed it on my way to Dusseldorf Airport, to catch a flight to new destinations.
Looking for a luxury hotel in Dusseldorf? With the best location and the best views in town? Ever thought about the Hyatt Regency in Dusseldorf? Located in the popular Media Harbour District. I was lucky to stay at the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf and have a taste of this luxury hotel in Dusseldorf. I enjoyed every bit of it, keep on reading for my full review of the Hyatt Regency in Dusseldorf.
Location Hyatt Dusseldorf
The Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf is located in the Media Harbour District, with amazing views over the Rhine river and the skyline of Dusseldorf. Situated at the end of the peninsula, the Hyatt Dusseldorf is a real eye catcher in the Media Harbour.
The Media Harbour District is a very popular district in Dusseldorf, it is one of the most fashionable business and lifestyle districts on the banks of the Rhine river. Media Harbour is a perfect blend of old and new. Old historical monuments are being interspersed with modern newly built architectural highlights. The Media Harbour offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants for lunch or dinner as well as some luxury hotels in Dusseldorf. Make sure you have a stroll around the Media Harbour when staying at the Hyatt Regency, the impressive and interesting contrast between modern architecture and historical monuments is a must see in Dusseldorf.
Room Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf
I was given a view category room, with scenic views of Media Harbour, the Rhine river and the Rhine Tower. The views are amazing, especially in the morning when the sun rises.
I was quite surprised when I entered my room, as I actually stepped into the bathroom. You walk through the bathroom area to the main part of the room where the bed, tv and desk are located. Designing the room and the bathroom the way the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf did makes the bathroom really part of the room. It has a luxurious spa look and feel.
The bathroom offers a separate shower and bathtub with a window connecting it to the room and offering you city views from your bathtub. When staying at the Hyatt Regency in Dusseldorf, make sure you request a room with views towards the city and the Rhine Tower, you won’t regret it!
Hyatt Dusseldorf bars & restaurants
DOX Restaurant
The DOX restaurant is the main restaurant of the Hyatt Dusseldorf. From the DOX restaurant you also have some amazing views of Media Harbour. The restaurant has an open show kitchen, where chefs are busy preparing your five star dishes. Also at the DOX restaurant you can find the sushi bar. You can watch the sushi making process right at the bar here.
Breakfast at DOX
Breakfast is served at the DOX restaurant. There is plenty to choose from, from fresh fruits and yoghurt to freshly made eggs (any style) and pancakes. Everything is being prepared freshly in the open show kitchen. You can even start your day here with a glass of sparkling wine. In the morning, at the entrance of the DOX restaurant, there is coffee and some sweet snacks to go for your convenience.
I visited the Hyatt Regency with my husband, as he was celebrating his birthday on the first day of our stay. Apparently the hotel staff knew about his birthday and surprised him during breakfast with a lovely birthday cake!
DOX Bar
The DOX bar is located right next to the DOX restaurant. Use their lounge to relax and have a drink, wine, cocktail and local specialties, it’s all being served here. Looking for small dishes or some bites to go with your cocktail? Have a look at their menu!
Café D
Café D is an exclusive self-service restaurant concept at Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf. Here you can find meals for lunch and dinner, plus a variety of drinks, snacks, yoghurts, sandwiches and coffee.
Pebble’s Terrace
This bar and terrace is open during the summer months. Literally located on the tip of the peninsula, it offers the best views of the Rhine Tower and the Dusseldorf skyline. There is a large outdoor terrace here with lounge furniture and large cushions, which will be very busy on warm long summer evenings. Get your cool summer drink here, sit back and relax and enjoy the views.
Underground carpark
Travelling to Dusseldorf by car? No worries, the Hyatt Regency offers their guests an underground carpark where you can safely park your car on Hyatt marked spots. Be aware however that the fee for this service is € 23,- per day.
Airport & city shuttle
Dusseldorf Airport is located only 10km (6 miles) from the Hyatt Regency. The hotel can arrange a limousine transfer to and from Dusseldorf Airport. Travelling with a larger group? Transfers by minivan are also possible.
Something special the Hyatt hotel Dusseldorf offers their guest is the complimentary shuttle service to Dusseldorf downtown. This service can be used by guests on Fridays and Saturdays. This shuttle will depart in front of the main entrance. Check reception for departure times.
If the weather is good you can also walk along the Rhine river to Dusseldorf downtown. This is what we did, take in the views of Media Harbour and the Rhine river and enjoy the outdoors, it’s a lovely walk and takes about 25 minutes.
The Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf also offers their guests bike rentals. That’s another fun way of exploring the city and direct surroundings of the hotel. Biking in Dusseldorf is good fun. Tom did it when he paid a visit to Dusseldorf testing the Breakzy app.
Rive Spa & Fitness
The Rive Spa & Fitness invites you to come and relax in one of their relaxation rooms, large whirlpool or wet and dry sauna. Recharge your battery here with a soothing massage, wellness package or cosmetic treatment.
Looking for some workout? The spacious fitness area is equipped with modern TechnoGym equipment. Whether you’re working out or just relaxing, the unique and exclusive location of the Rive Spa allows you unique views over the Rhine river.
Looking at taking the Rive Spa feel with you back home? There is a variety of skincare products available for purchase. Good to know, only organic products are being used at the Rive Spa.
Regency Club
The Regency Club Lounge is located on the 18th floor of this hotel and provides complimentary continental breakfast, soft drinks and hot beverages, coffee and cake, as well as a selection of wines, sparkling wines and canapés.
Access to this lounge is only available to those who have booked a Regency Club Room or to members of the club. The Regency Club Rooms and Suites are also located on this floor.
Hyatt Green Team
This is something I really like about the Dusseldorf Hyatt, as I think we should all care about the world and sustainability.
The Hyatt Green Team brings forward environmental concerns like the saving of energy, gas, water and electricity. Sustainability is an important issue at the Hyatt. The Hyatt Regency in Dusseldorf has two pumps that draw ground water which is used for cooling and heating the hotel. This water is also being used for operation of the toilets and urinals on all floors.
The Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf prefers to work with local providers and regional products to avoid long transportation routes. Packaging also plays a role for the choice of products and suppliers.
Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf Review
I have to mention the staff of the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf who have been super friendly, welcoming and helpful. They do whatever they can to make your stay at their hotel the best possible ever. The attention they paid to my husband’s birthday was awesome and very much appreciated. Upon arrival there was a plate full of delicious sweets and treats waiting for us in our room. What a way to welcome your guests!
I fell in love with the Media Harbour district and the location of the Hyatt right at the tip of the peninsula. Getting excited about the Hyatt Regency and want to check out Dusseldorf and the Media Harbour yourself? Start booking, check the rates for the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf here.
