Imaging traveling the Dolomites, days and days of amazing mountain scenery. Then you travel on towards the wine region of the Dolomites. You pass the city of Bolzano and start winding through one vineyard after another. Your navigation says: 'turn right' and there it is, this impressive and authentic 13th Century castle that rises proudly above the vineyards and overlooks Bolzano and the mountains.

Location
Location wise this hotel scores a ten out of ten! You're in the mighty Dolomites within a few minutes, in fact, the Dolomites are the views you see from Schloss Hotel Korb. Next to being really close to the mountains, this hotel is located in the middle of the famous South Tyrolean Wine Road. The castle is literally surrounded by vine yards. Most of these vineyards are directly owned by the hotel and its owners.
From the hotel you can clearly see the city of Bolzano. It's just a short 10 minute drive to reach Bolzano, so it's a great trip to do when staying at Schloss Hotel Korb.

The most attractive thing about this location is the hotels location among the many vineyards. Schloss Hotel Korb is located in Appiano on the wine road. Appiano is the largest wine growing municipality in South Tyrol.
This area is characterized by castles, historic residences, winding alleys and wine. Wines also play a big part at Schloss Hotel Korb.
Dellago wines
Schloss Hotel Korb is a family-owned business, owned by the Dellago family. Next to the hotel they also have their own wine. Of course you can already guess it. This wine comes from the vineyards immediately surrounding their hotel. The castle even has its own castle cellar, where the wines of Fritz Dellago are stored.
This wine storage is rather special by the way. It was once a bunker from the Second World War. It is now turned into a symbol of wine and culture. In the heart of the bunker are the barriques and elaborately arranged wine bottles. This is actually the perfect location, because the enormous concrete walls of the bunker create a constant, ideal temperature for wine storage.
Panoramic Suite
When staying at Schloss Hotel Korb you can either stay at the castle itself or at the residence behind the castle. I can imagine staying at the castle is super special, but actually we liked staying at the residence even more. You want to know why? Because the views from our room included the castle as well!
During our stay we were given one of their panoramic suites. Located on the upper floors of the residence these rooms offer truly breathtaking views. The view includes the impressive castle itself and the amazing Dolomites mountains. The suite has a huge outdoor terrace with some lounger beds and a hanging chair.
The suite itself is amazing and offers everything you could wish for on a luxury and romantic trip away. You have floor – to – ceiling windows across the entire width of the room. So from both the seating area as well as waking up from your bed, you're always spoiled with the most amazing views. The suite has a separate sitting area where you can chill and a large and comfortable bed. Plus, it may have the largest bathroom I've seen in a while, with a perfect shower and a free – standing bath tub.
If you plan on staying at Schloss Hotel Korb anytime soon, I would definitely recommend to get a room at the residence. The views with the castle included are simply unique and very special. I took at least one photo every time I went outside on the terrace, simply because the views are that impressive.

Pools
Rarely have I seen a swimming pool with such impressive views. I love infinity pools, and the one at Schloss Hotel Korb is definitely my new favorite! It overlooks the valley with Bolzano right in the middle, surrounded by nothing but Dolomites mountains.
This pool in fact is an award-winning pool. It's a bio pool without the addition of chemicals. The so-called biofilm that settles in the pool cleans the water in interaction with its own adjacent filter pool. A very special highlight at this hotel.
Next to the amazing infinity pool the castle has a second outdoor pool. This pool has environmentally-friendly solar heating.
Both pools are located in a beautiful garden, which makes the experience even more beautiful.
In the residence building they also have an indoor pool with a sauna as well.
This area also has loungers next to the pool and outside in the garden.
Wellness
Right next to the indoor swimming pool you will also find the castle's wellness area. Oil massage, classic massage, rose oil massage or foot massage, the choice is all yours. Treatments here are pure relaxation. Make sure to book your sessions well in advance.
Next to the outdoor pool you can also find a whirlpool and a barrel sauna.
Gym
They have placed all the facilities here in such a way that you have an amazing view from everywhere, from the swimming pool, the restaurant and therefore also from their gym.
The gym is rather small but offers everything you would need to stay in shape while travelling. Don't forget to enjoy the views while working out.
Restaurant
When staying at Schloss Hotel Korb I highly recommend you experience their culinary delights at least once. You now know the owners have their own wine, so wineand dine at Schloss Hotel Korb is the ultimate thing to do.
Dinner here is next level. The culinary treats are a joy to the eye and a feast to the tasting buds.
They use natural ingredients and season it with herbs from their own castle garden.
In Summertime their terrace is open as well. Honestly, dinner at this terrace with these impressive views, that is truly priceless. I still often think of the lovely nights we enjoyed here.
The restaurant is open from 12.00 till 2.00 PM for lunch and delicious cakes, pies and desserts from their own patisserie. In the evening the restaurant is open from 7.00 PM for dinner. If you want a table in the evening it's recommended to reserve a table in advance.
Not staying at the hotel? Not a problem, just book your table for an unforgettable dining experience.
The restaurant is also your place to go for breakfast in the morning. Imagine a glorious day, a fresh coffee, a view to the Dolomites along with the view of the Vally of Bolzano, I promise, life can't get any better!
Their breakfast buffet is full of delicacies and delicious treats. It's a joy to the eye walking up to this buffet.

Staying at Schloss Hotel Korb has been an absolute dream. It truly felt like a fairytale to drive up through the vineyards to that amazing castle. From the moment we arrived the experience has been absolutely perfect and flawless. You simply don't know where to look when you first walk up to the caste and inside towards the reception.
It really feels like you've stepped back in time, or like you've stepped into a movie when you walk around Schloss Hotel Korb.
Schloss Hotel Korb is run by the Dellago family. Together with their 32-person staff they welcome you to have the best time of your life. It's their target to provide their guests a fairytale holiday. We can only say that they succeed resoundingly in this. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love and warmth of this family run business. We felt very welcome and at home.
When you say Schloss Korb, you say luxury. Schloss Hotel Korb is a four star hotel. If you ask me, a fifth star should be added immediately. This hotel is a five star hotel in every aspect, without a doubt! It's everything.
The surroundings, the views, the special castle, the personal and professional service, the atmosphere, the feeling, everything together makes this absolutely a 5 star experience and a 5 star hotel if you ask us!
