We always look forward to new destinations, also to try and experience the local food. On the other hand, food can also be the reason to return to destinations.

Umami by Han Restaurants
Umami by Han was founded by the famous Chinese chef Han Ji. With his innovative style, he emphasizes quality and the culinary level of the dishes. It is also important that this is all at an affordable price by Umami by Han. Umami is scientifically recognized as the fifth basic taste, in addition to sweet, salty, sour and bitter. Umami comes from Japan and literally means 'delicious taste'.
Umami by Han is a Modern Asian Fusion restaurant. They serve original Chinese fusion dishes.
Location
Umami by Han in Eindhoven has the perfect location. The restaurant is located in the city center of Eindhoven, in the street Kleine Berg. The street and area is full of galleries, boutique stores and many other restaurants, bars and cozy terraces. Umami by Han is only a short 15 minute walk from the Central Station of Eindhoven. Being located in the center of Eindhoven the restaurant is also very easily accessible by public transport.
You can of course order individual dishes from the menu a la carte at Umami by Han. But believe us when we say that it is much more fun and tastier to try one of their menus. They have several menus to choose from, so we will briefly explain each below.
Social dining menu
We went for their Social Dining Menu. A three-course menu where you can choose two dishes from the menu per course, per person. You can even add an extra course. You can freely choose from their menu with this social dining menu. Each course offers its own dishes that you can choose from.
Michelin Bib Gourmand Menu
Are you really unable to make your own choice from all the delicious dishes on the menu, or do you just want to be surprised? Then the Michelin Bib Gourmand Menu is really something for you! You can choose from only two dishes for each course. Easier for the difficult decision maker.

Vegetarian Bib Gourmand Menu
They also have a special vegetarian menu available for the vegetarians among us. This works the same as the Michelin Bib Gourmand Menu. You can choose from two dishes per course.
Tea or Wine pairing
Of course we all know a wine pairing with a menu, but we had never heard of a tea pairing before.Umami by Han is one of the first restaurants in the Netherlands to offer tea pairing. As you can see, not only the food is innovative and different from anything else, also their amazing tea pairing menus are different.
They have specialized tea sommeliers who constantly look for the best teas worldwide and combine them with their Umami dishes. They know how to combine the dishes with the rich flavors of teas in a way that they complement each other in the best possible way. They also offer special wine pairing packages for wine lovers.
New in Eindhoven
They recently launched something new in Eindhoven, the Umami Steamed Seafood Bar. This is the latest addition to Umami by Han, exclusively at their Eindhoven location. The concept is simple yet revolutionary: fresh, high-quality seafood, steamed to perfection, in an elegant and adventurous setting.
Traveltomtom honest opinion
We didn't really know what to expect from our visit to Umami by Han. After a four-course dinner that lasted more than 2 hours, we walked out satisfied and enthusiastic.
A cozy and inviting interior, incredibly tasty dishes and absolute great hospitality from the staff. The perfect ingredients for a pleasant and tasty evening out.
We can highly recommend dinner at Umami by Han in Eindhoven. You don't get standard dishes here, but a menu full of Chinese and Asian inspired dishes, made for sharing.
The dishes were truly delicious, every bite and every dish is a true flavor explosion. I specifically love the flavor combinations they put together to create unique dishes. High end dishes and a high end culinary experience.
