United Arabic Emirates
You are looking for a cool spot in Dubai to catch up with some friends but don't know where to go!? Dubai is a cosmopolitan city uniting people from all over the world. It blends a mixture of western sophistication with Islamic principals. However, there are many misconceptions, especially about alcohol. But don't worry the bars are far from dry, drinking alcohol is not cheap though!
When flying into the UAE you probably going to see the desert from out of your airplane window, but once you are on the ground you don't really realize this place was a huge sandbox only 30 years ago. Dubai has so much to offer that most people simply don't have time to take a trip to see the surrounding scenery. A trip into the desert may sound pretty boring, but the landscape is phenomenal and an adventurous trip is almost right at your doorstep.
Both cities gained a lot of popularity in the last decade, and definitely not only to work. Nowadays these world cities are popular with travelers from all over the world and loads of expats. Despite the extreme heat and the humidity during the summer months, people free-willingly want to settle down here and students from all over the world come to study at one of the many universities. Although I flew into Abu Dhabi airport several times, I never really took the opportunity to explore the city.
