Before arriving in Perth I had travelled the west coast of Australia, where you’ll hardly find any hotels, so my accommodation for over 2 weeks consisted mainly of self-contained units. Arriving in Perth I really needed a good hotel offering a good bed, a decent shower and breakfast. The Crowne Plaza in Perth exceeded every expectation I had.

I have travelled through Australia a few times now, and what I really like about Australia and the Australians is how kind, friendly and genuine they are. Everywhere you go, you’ll always be greeted with a ‘Hello, how are you’ or more like g’day mate.

It’s this friendly attitude and a very customer oriented hospitality that puts the Crowne Plaza on top of the list of riverside hotels in Perth.

Location Crowne Plaza Perth

The Crowne Plaza in Perth is located along Langley Park and the Swan River. From the restaurant, the pool and the river view hotel rooms you have amazing views over the river and the park.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, just a 10 minute stroll to the city center, where you can find many shops and restaurants, the famous Bell Tower and Elizabeth Quay.

Langley Park is a grassed, open space park, rectangular in shape, which used to be an airstrip. In fact, this park was used as an airstrip during World War II. Being located that close to the river and the park gives this hotel a very relaxed vibe.

Room Crowne Plaza Perth

I was given a room with river view, and I have to say, the views from my balcony were one of the best I ever had. The room was spacious and offered everything I needed. A good amenity kit, slippers and a well filled mini bar, it’s the small things that really do it! Especially when the sun sets, the views overlooking the Swan River are priceless. Not all rooms offer these lovely views, so if you do wish to enjoy some amazing sunsets, make sure you request a river view room.

Pool Crowne Plaza Perth

An infinity pool overlooking the Swan River with the palm trees giving it a tropical feel. Not something you would expect at a hotel located in the heart of Perth city. Well, think again, because the Crowne Plaza actually has an infinity pool located on the third floor. The 20 metre pool is a perfect place if you’re after your daily swimming laps, or just relax in the pool or on the wooden sundeck and enjoy the river views. You’ll go through the hotels gym when visiting the pool, so if you’re really after some workout, the gym on the third floor is fully equipped and waiting for you.

Crowne Plaza Perth features

1. Breakfast

I love a good breakfast so I’m always curious to see what hotels have to offer when it comes to breakfast. Well, the Crowne Plaza surely delivers when it comes to breakfast. They offer a full breakfast buffet, everything you need. From making your own pancakes to making your own smoothie. Breakfast is being served at the Gusti Restaurant. My favourite part of the breakfast? Real 100% honey straight from the beekeeper and the bee to the hotel.

2. Late Check Out

Although I have travelled to quite a few places already, I never had a late check out before, until I stayed at the Crowne Plaza. I had a late night flight out of Perth and kindly requested a late check out, which I luckily was granted! A late check out means you get to leave your stuff in your room, explore the city one last time and have a refreshing shower before heading to the airport. Upon check out I received a free bottle of water for my journey to the airport. That’s service!

3. Free Bike Hire

Make sure you take advantage of the complimentary two hour bike hire offered by Crowne Plaza Perth to all their guests. I sure did and it was the best thing I did while visiting Perth.

They offer you new and decent bikes, helmet, lock and lights all included. You’re even provided with a free bottle of water to make sure you stay hydrated while exploring the city. The concierge advised me to do the Perth Bridges ride, a very popular 10km ride that takes you around Swan River crossing two bridges. From the other side of the Swan River you’re treated on spectacular views of Perth’s skyline. In the end I did a 17km ride as I took the Matagarup Bridge across the river to see the Optus Stadium. Biking your way through Perth is the best way to see this beautiful city, and best part of this complimentary bike hire, it’s for free!

4. Business Centre

After travelling Western Australia for two weeks, where Wi-Fi is very rare, you really get to appreciate good Wi-Fi connection again. The Wi-Fi at the Crowne Plaza was very good. It’s perfect to keep everyone up to date on Instagram and Facebook and being able to write new blogs about my latest adventures for this website.

If the Wi-Fi on your phone, tablet or laptop isn’t enough for you, the Crowne Plaza also has a business centre. This business centre provides you with a workspace with comfortable chairs, touch screen desktop computers, high speed internet and printing facilities.

5. Free sunscreen

It is generally known that Australia has one of the highest UV exposures in the world. It literally takes just minutes to get a sunburn when you’re not protected. It is essential to be protected at all times when travelling through Australia. The Crowne Plaza offers guests free sunblock, with bottles located at the entrance of the hotel and next to the pool. You wouldn’t normally think of small things like this, but in a country where UV exposures are that high it is extremely important to use protection. I think offering sunblock is such a great gesture. No excuses anymore for not being protected when visiting Perth now.

Gusti Restaurant

Big plus to the Crowne Plaza Perth is the fact that they have the Gusti Restaurant located right at the front of their hotel. The Gusti Restaurant is a modern Australian restaurant where local produce is being used for their seasonal menus and international dishes. The great advantage of this Gusti Restaurant at the Crowne Plaza, they offer 24/7 in-room dining. Your late night snack is now literally just a phonecall away! And let me tell you, when staying at the Crowne Plaza, make sure you have dinner at Gusti at least once. Their food is delicious!

The Gusti Restaurant also has an outdoor terrace, which is often used for live music and events. And of course, your views from this terrace include Langley Park and the Swan River.

Crowne Plaza Perth Review

I became a real fan of the Crowne Plaza Perth, click here for the best rates! I was really curious about this hotel, the location and its views. I really liked the beautiful sunsets from my balcony, the helpful, friendly and always smiling staff (thanx Phil for the history lessons during breakfast!) and their amazing infinity pool. Free sunblock, complimentary bike hire and a free bottle of water on check out, it’s the small things that make this hotel stand out! This hotel truly is Perth’s most perfectly located hotel!
