I have stayed in many city hotels before and it is hard to really impress me, but what you will find in the Shangri La Sydney is unrivalled. When I pull out my phone straight away to keep my followers on Snapchat up to date about what I am doing it means I am excited. I want to give them a share of what I am experiencing. When I walked into the Club Lounge of the Shangri La Sydney first thing I did was taking out my phone…
Hotel with best view in Sydney
When I decided to move to Australia for a couple months it was an easy choice where I was going: Sydney of course. Brisbane and Cairns did not impress me at all and Melbourne is just another city to me. Australia’s most well known city though is so iconic that everyone around the world knows where this is if you show them a picture of the Sydney Harbour. And this is exactly what you want to see if you are looking for the hotel with best view in Sydney.
Although living in Sydney was a dream, there are many things I don't like about Australia. Read them all in the link!
Location
Only footsteps away from Circular Quay where the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge connects the Northern Beaches with the Central Business District and the unique Opera House, the Shangri La Sydney rises high above all other skyscrapers. This front row tower blocks the view for all the massive constructions behind it but itself has an unobstructed view of the Sydney Harbour and Darling Harbour in the back and to me is therefore the hotel with the best view in Sydney.
Room
My room was spacious and came with everything you can expect from the exclusive Shangri La Hotel brand including its fantastic service. Small things like complimentary shoe shine service, iron press service and welcome chocolates makes it a pleasure to stay at their hotels all the time. From my room I had an unobstructed view over the Sydney Harbour but unfortunately could not see the Harbour Bridge. If you want a view over both you have to request a room facing the front of the building.
Club Lounge Shangri La Sydney
Wow! That is the best way to describe what I felt when I walked into the Club Lounge of the Shangri La in Sydney. Up on the 30th floor looming large over the city here is where you will be dazzled by the amazing views. If you want to get the Opera House, the cruise terminal and the Harbour Bridge all in one photo you have to come up here and you will straight away understand why this is the best Sydney Harbour view hotel. The best of this all is that the Club Lounge is serving food and drinks all day long from breakfast to dinner all complimentary including alcohol. It is impossible to find a drink with a better view than this.
Altitude Restaurant and Blu Bar
If you are not entitled for Club Lounge access then go for Plan B and reserve yourself a seat at Altitude. I enjoyed a 3-course meal with views to die for. Request a seat at the window and although the food was delicious, I couldn’t keep my eyes of the view. Just drinks? No worries, the next door Blu Bar serves delicious cocktails and is open till late. There is no need to tell you what you can expect up here on the 36th floor.
Shangri La Sydney
As you already sensed I am a big fan of Shangri La Sydney, click here for the best rates! I love the Club Lounge in where you can grab food most times of the day at no extra cost. Sydney is already expensive enough and having Club Lounge Access will save you a lot of money and hassle to find a place to eat. On top of that you have done all your sightseeing in one go. Looking out of the window while enjoying your breakfast up here feels like you have seen most of Sydney and if you are lucky with the weather you can also see the peaks of the Blue Mountains popping up on the horizon. This place is definitely the best Sydney Harbour view hotel.
