Welcome to Australia, welcome to Sydney! Now the big question: where to stay in Sydney? Of course there are many amazing suburbs, but just like in any other metropolis it is hard to pick the right one. Some may tell you to stay in Bondi, some prefer the city center and others like the Northern Beaches. Difficult decision I totally understand!
Sydney Boutique Hotels
As I nowadays reside in this awesome city and will stay a couple more months I am keen to find out some cool hotels Sydney for you. There are many boutiques in Sydney and I am hunting them down one by one. If you know of any that I will definitely have to check out, please contact me through my social media. I would love to hear your recommendations!
The Adge Surry Hills
Somewhere mid December I stayed a weekend in their boutique hotel Surry Hills. Actually it would do more justice if it is rated as a Surry Hills apartment, as it literally felt like a place I could live in! I felt so at home that I wish I could afford to rent this place for a couple months and live here. Dreams! Or better: goals! As they keep me more motivated! :)
Location
Surry Hills Sydney is one of the hippest neighbourhoods around. It is an area with many bookstores, bars, coffee places, and where you will find hip and trendy boutiques in Sydney. Bordering Central Station on one side and Hyde Park on the other side it is hard to beat this location. And with not that many great Surry Hills hotels, The Adge Surry Hills is a great choice. Hyde Park is just around the corner. During weekends it is a place where people hang out on the green lawns. It is not quite like Central Park in New York, but it does have a little bit of that feel as it is surrounded by skyscrapers. Central Station is just down the road and probably only a 5-7 minute walk. Sydney Harbour where you can find the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge is only 2,5 kilometer and 10 minutes by bus. Shopping Malls are bordering Hyde Park so only a few minutes walk as well. Public transport to everywhere around Sydney can be found on Oxford Street, which is just two blocks away.
Room
The photo of the room will show you why this is the number one boutique hotel Surry Hills. It was such a lovely place that the moment I walked in I said: can I live here? All the apartments have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen and a big balcony. The apartment is of course fully serviced with a 24 hour butler which is just a phone call away. The colourful carpet is an amazing feature and makes the room so homey that I did not want to leave at all!
Review The Adge Surry Hills
Definitely one of the best boutique hotels Sydney and that in such a great location. To me it was clear the moment I arrived. The place is so homey I plunged on the sofa and imagined myself living here. The floor-to-ceiling windows make this place super airy and spacious and the spectacular view of the skyline is to die for. As it sleeps 4 people it is a perfect place to rent with a couple friends or with two couples, which makes it one of the more affordable Sydney boutique hotels as well! Check out their best rates here: The Adge Surry Hills or take a look at their TripAdvisor profile to see what other travelers think of this Sydney boutique hotel.
I lived for a while in Sydney as I made use of my Working Holiday Visa Australia. Check out my articles How I Was Able To Save Money Living In Sydney and How I Ended Up Working In Australia.
